How we check
Three sources, each with a date, and a rule for when they disagree.
Where the numbers come from
Ratings such as peak current, engine size, battery watt-hours and charge current come from the manufacturer's own product or spec page. Not from the Amazon listing, which can lag behind or carry a different figure. We say "manufacturer rating" because that is what it is: the maker's statement.
Safety listings come from the public Intertek directory, where we look for a record that names the exact model. We link that record on every product page. A brand-level claim of certification on a box or listing does not count.
Charge times come from the charge-time tables in NOCO's GENIUS manuals, with the one assumption we add written out on the calculator page.
When sources disagree
We show both numbers and say where each one came from. That has already happened on several pages: a weight stated two ways on one NOCO page, a GB150 rating that older reviews still give as 4,000 A, and a charger sold on Amazon as 800 mA that its maker lists at 1 A.
What we do not do
We do not test products hands-on, we do not publish star ratings or review scores, and we do not show prices. We have not measured any of these units, and nothing on this site should be read as if we had.
Dates and corrections
Every page shows the date its sources were last checked. If you find a number that is wrong or out of date, write to hello@trueamps.com with the page and the source, and we will check it again.
How the site is paid for
Links marked (paid link) go to Amazon, and we may earn a commission if you buy. It does not change what the sources say, and we do not leave out a number because it is unflattering. Affiliate disclosure.
